Returns, Exchanges & Store Credit
Each Bougainbella piece is thoughtfully crafted with care and attention to detail. As our garments are made to order and involve a lot of people's hard work, we maintain the following policy.
Exchange Policy
We offer size exchanges, subject to stock and fabric availability. Exchange requests must be raised within 5 days of receiving your order.
To be eligible
- ◆Item must be unused, unworn, and unwashed
- ◆Original tags must be intact
- ◆Product must be returned in original packaging
- ◆Exchanges are subject to product availability
- ◆A flat ₹100 shipping/handling fee applies to all exchanges
- ◆Plus-size garments are eligible for exchange; however, plus-size surcharge / additional charges are non-refundable
- ◆Once an order has been exchanged, it cannot be exchanged again
Return Policy
We do not accept general returns. Returns are accepted only in limited cases:
- ◆Defective product received
- ◆Damaged product received
- ◆Wrong item delivered
- ◆Missing item in parcel
A clear parcel opening video is mandatory for all return concerns. Requests must be raised within 5 days of delivery.

A flat ₹100 shipping/handling fee applies to approved returns/exchanges unless the issue is confirmed as a Bougainbella error.
Not Eligible for Return / Exchange
The following are strictly not eligible:
- ◆Customised garments
- ◆Sale / discounted items
- ◆Products purchased using Store Credit
- ◆Items without tags / original packaging
- ◆Used, worn, washed, altered, or damaged products after delivery
- ◆Requests raised after the stated timelines
Quality Check & Store Credit
Once the returned parcel is received, our team will conduct a quality inspection. If approved, Store Credit will be issued.
Store Credit Terms
- ◆Valid for 1 year from the date of issue
- ◆Non-transferable
- ◆Cannot be redeemed for cash
- ◆Return/exchange is possible only against Store Credit, unless approved under refund-worthy defect cases
- ◆Once Store Credit is used for a purchase, that order is not eligible for return/exchange
Refund Policy (Exceptional Cases Only)
Refunds are only provided in exceptional cases involving:
- ◆Major manufacturing defect
- ◆Wrong item shipped, and replacement unavailable
- ◆Missing product confirmed after investigation
To claim a refund
- ◆Notify us within 5 days of delivery
- ◆Share clear images/videos and the parcel opening video
If approved, refunds will be processed to your bank account only.
Handmade Product Disclaimer
As Bougainbella works with handcrafted and artisanal fabrics, the following are not considered defects:
- ◆Minor print irregularities
- ◆Natural weave variations
- ◆Slight color differences due to hand dyeing, photography, lighting, or screen settings
These are part of the charm and uniqueness of handmade products.
Non-Eligible Return Shipment
If a returned parcel does not qualify after inspection:
- ◆The return/exchange request will be declined
- ◆The parcel will be sent back to you
- ◆A prepaid ₹100 shipping charge must be paid before re-dispatch
Policy Rights
Bougainbella reserves the right to:
- ◆Refuse requests that do not meet policy conditions
- ◆Decline claims without sufficient proof
- ◆Update this policy at any time
